Please believe me, fellow gaters - I really tried to write something sensible and serious about the spoilers for season 8 which were recently revealed on FILM JERK by Chris Faile (thanks a lot). I really did.

Are these spoilers the real thing? Well, we can't tell. But
if they are much could be said about them - for example that new SG-1 member Dr. Maggie Greer, described as "a brilliant young anthropologist ... beautiful, opinionated and temperamental," whose casting is "listed as being between the ages of 25 and 35", must have been a real wunderkind, considering she was in the position to be "a harsh critic of Daniel Jackson's work" in her early teens already - after all, the good Dr. Jackson is approaching his 40ies by now.

Or
Colonel Kyle Hooper, an "Air Force special ops soldier. Described as 'a born leader' and 'a soldier's soldier,' he's a stoic, serious man with a wry, witty sense of humor".

I was thinking about suggesting a really clever plot move to introduce these two new characters: Dr. Greer is the long-lost younger sister of Dr. Jackson, who grew up in a top secret government research center because of her brilliance, and Col. Hooper, jokingly called "Hoopy" by his friends and "Poopy" by his enemies, is actually the long-lost son of MacGyver whose return we await eagerly since that show ended.

So many brilliant ideas, and what happened?

I stumbled over the
"VALLEY GIRL GENERATOR".

Highly recommended. No editor can live without it. Thanks to this wonderful tool we are now able to do the direction this show is taking justice and accomodate to its quality:
STARGATE SEASON 8 - THE VALLEY GIRL VERSION

"(...) the first of the studly characters, Dr. Maggie Greer, is totally a brilliant young anthropologist described as “beautiful, opinionated and temperamental.” Listed as being between the ages of 25 and 35, she was like, you know, once a harsh critic of Daniel Jackson's work, stunned that his crazy theories like, you know, about the influence of aliens on Earth's history are true when she is totally recruited to join the SGC. Once she totally does join, she struggles with the demands of being part of a team whose mandate is totally dictated by the military.

Colonel Kyle Hooper is totally the other studly member of the Stargate team, an Air Force special ops soldier. Described as a “a born leader” and “a soldier's soldier,” he's a stoic, serious dork with a wry, witty sense of humor always seems to surprise others. While confident in his abilities and qualifications he is totally eager to prove his appointment to leader of a front-line team is totally justified. His belief in the need for a strong chain of command is totally tested by the maverick general in charge (like, that totally reminds me, I just got this radical studly gold card, so now I can totally do some MAJOR shopping) of the SGC Sooo, like, this character is totally listed as being between 35 and 45 years old."
